DMI Contractors began as a small industrial shop in 1958 when Mississippi River commerce was the pillar of Louisiana’s economy. Based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, our founder Dexter Folse wanted to build a company that would grow and develop as a leader in the pipe fabrication industry while upholding the highest levels of integrity, reliability and exceptional service.

After Dexter’s retirement, his son Scott Folse became president. He and longtime general manager Pat Crawford grew our pipe fabrication facility into what it is today. Scott would go on to develop and build the first DMI portable stadium light tower, Xtreme 16-LED, and open our industrial blasting and coating facility; both remain integral parts of the company. Today DMI is in its third generation of family ownership and leadership with Scott’s three children: Scott, Laura and Brennan Folse.

We’ve embraced new technology and techniques and adapted to the evolving industry and our clients’ needs. We remain a family-owned and operated business, and our guiding principles remain the same as they were at our founding.
